Gas Meter Testing Equipment

Accurate gas meter testing is essential for efficiency, compliance, and fair measurement. At Rigil Geny, our Gas Meter Testing Equipment is engineered to deliver high-precision results across various meter types, including thermal, ultrasonic, and turbine meters. Designed for reliability and adherence to global standards, our solutions ensure optimal performance for manufacturers, utilities, and laboratories. Experience precision-driven testing that enhances accuracy, reduces errors, and supports seamless energy management.

Calibration Test Bench

Adjustment test bench for domestic gas meters

  • The gas meters are tested at three or more measuring points.
  • A magazine made of three sonic nozzles is used as a flow sensor.
  • The nozzle magazine can be exchanged with just a few hand movements so that up to five different gas meter types can be calibrated on one test bench.
  • This allows the generation of up to 512 different flow points.
  • This means that all five gas meter types G1,6..G10 can be tested without nozzle change.

SMF Sonic Master Flow

High-Precision Flow Measurement of Gases and Air

  • The series of SMF® – Sonic Master Flow® are calibration systems for high-precision flow measurement of air and other gases (optional)(volume and mass flows) by means of critically operated Laval nozzles.
  • The modular design for different flow ranges with a variety of options makes the nozzle test benches ideally suited for several applications.
  • Operation is easy and safe thanks to an intuitive user interface, automatic nozzle combination and internal system checks.

Reference Standard for Gas Measurements

Flow measurement elements with highest accuracy

Highest accuracy – up to 0.12 % MV

  • Rapid reaction times – steady flow within 500 msec
  • Easy handling – only measurement of absolute pressure, temperature and relative humidity necessary
  • Internationally recognised – approved by PTB as calibration standard
  • Best long-term stability – recalibration period up to 1 year for laval nozzles
  • Flexible nozzle setup – nozzles can be combined

Flow measurement elements with highest accuracy

  • The achievable measurement accuracy depends significantly on the sensor technology used, in particular on the differential pressure sensor.
  • When using high-quality sensors, measurement accuracies* of up to 0.5 % MV can be achieved with LFEs in the measuring range of 1:10.
  • In order to cover a very wide measurement range without restrictions in measurement accuracy.
  • LFEs with overlapping flow ranges can be combined in one measurement setup.
  • Alternatively, LFEs with correspondingly lower measurement accuracy can also be calibrated for an extended measurement range up to a maximum of 1:100.

Mobile calibration system for flow meters Hydrogen approved

The gas meter measurement box convinces with its mobility due to the smart hard case in which our measurement unit is installed.

In the test setup, this is connected between the gas meter to be tested and the consumer.

The compact calibration equipment is ideally suited for on-site calibrations.

Only mains voltage is required for the device to function.

After the test item has been properly connected, the measurement software is started on the mobile end device such as a tablet or mobile phone and a connection is established.

Real Gas Loop

Flow calibration of technical and combustible gases

  • The EP Real Gas Loop is a flow calibration system for technical and combustible gases for a flow range of (0.01) 0.1 to 250 m³/h.
  • The closed loop design enables long measuring times and pressures of up to 16 bar, while operation is resource- and cost-efficient at the same time.
  • The system is long term stable and enables the best measurement uncertainties of up to 0.2 %.
